Case Study 1

The Client: SaaS Technology Company
The Challenge:

CFO and COO of a SaaS Technology company approached LBS to improve or implement a new performance management system for their enterprise. They explained that their Performance management system was broken. At the time LBS was contacted, every manager at the client company conducted their performance conversations in different ways. They were also documented, saved, and shared in different manners. Rarely were important aspects of conversations documented properly. Experiences across the organization were disparate and far from uniform. This created difficulties in handling fair pay practices. In addition, employees that reported to multiple managers because of cross functional teams received mixed messaging. Performance appraisals within the company were expected to take place bi-annually, however only 50% of the mid-year performance appraisals were ever completed, saved, and shared out appropriately. Few conversations turned into meaningful change in the way employees did business. Top performers tended to remain top performers, but the company admitted to a failure at delivering increased performance for everyone else.
The Solution:

LBS thoroughly examples current practices. After understanding their strategy, culture, and ways of doing business, LBS recommended a new software and a new approach to how conversations should be held and with an increased frequency. LBS provided managers a workshop on the continuous performance framework and as well as a training on accountability.
